Homeschool Group!

Pictures from our Thursday meeting!

This was my first time to host our homeschool group! I offered to do geography. For those of you who know me and know that I can't find my way out of a paper bag, don't laugh too hard. I really wanted to help any way I could, and I have learned a lot myself.  We started with Mexico, and we made maracas and colored a map of Mexico.

We talked a bit about the world map and where Mexico is located.

Very busy little hands!

This little one is trying to entertain so mom could eat!

Everyone brought a Mexican dish to share!

I think everyone enjoyed the food! Thanks to the wonderful moms for bringing goodies and helping out!  We loved having you all!

25 of 25! Merry Christmas

"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shall call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins."
                                                                                       -Matthew 1:21-

The boys woke up to a wonderful surprise! Santa had made his visit!

Nana was just interested in her Christian Crack (aka coffee)!

Homemade rolls!

Luke was fascinated!

Luke patiently waiting at the table for Christmas dinner!

We read the story of the first Christmas.  I have tried throughout these last 25 days to make sure the boys know the true reason for our celebration today!

The boys were pumped that snow had started to fall just before bed...

...and they woke up to this!

Papa and Nana flew in from Austin where the weather was much much warmer.  They did not bring their snow gear!

All the kids gave up on the snowman, but daddy was determined.  I have to say that for someone who grew up around snow (Indiana), he did not seem to remember how to build one. So, I put all of my snow gear back on and helped him out.

We hope you had a joyous and blessed Christmas with family and friends!

24 of 25!

Christmas Eve!  We started the day out with a little homecooked breakfast thanks to Papa!  Then, we got dressed and hit Barnes and Noble.  The boys really wanted to use their gift cards from Uncle Jack.  Logan, being the saver of the two, used only a small portion and bought himself a Bible.  I thought it was precious that of all the books, this is what he chose.  I reminded him that he has at least 5 at home already, but he still wanted it.  He also found a bookmark he had to have.

Luke went all out and found a book on dinosaurs, A Dora the Explorer and a Max & Ruby book.  He was almost dead on with the cost, we owed $.30 after was all said and done.  Logan was pretty pumped he had money left on his for another trip!
Luke was not willing to show his goods off, but he did hold up the bag for a pic!

After B&N, we headed to church.  They offered a beautiful service that was mostly music, some scripture and a few words from our pastor.  They sang my favorite song, O Holy Night!  It gives me chills everytime I hear it.  We went ahead and checked Bubba in to his classroom, but we took Logan with us to service.  He was very excited and started telling everyone that he got to go to big church.  Maybe we will try taking him some on Sundays to see how he does!

The entire church was loaded with fun stuff to do including animals from a nearby ranch to show kids what kind of animals would have been around at the time of Jesus' birth.

Very aggressive animals!

Luke was upset because the camel wouldn't eat out of his hands.  I am sure he was full!

There were also some beautiful trees decorated and donated by church families.

We went out to eat a bite of dinner and hurried home so we could start tracking Santa!

Then, we let the boys open one gift. They got Toy Story 3 from Grandma Sandy! They got to watch a little bit before bed!

They also got a snack ready for Santa and the reindeer...

Then, a very special treat! Nana and Papa recorded their own version of A Night Before Christmas for the boys!

Off to bed...

...and finally asleep!

Where in the world is Bubba?

We hope you have a wonderful Christmas Eve!
