Just some sewing!

Here are some recent sewing goodies!  First is a baby quilt for a sweet couple in our neighborhood.  They are expecting their first baby!
Isn't this cute material?? I found the animal and border prints at IKEA!  If you have not seen their fabrics, you must check them out!

I also did the owls below for the boys.  I was able to use scraps of vintage material from my stash!

Happy sewing!

End of Logan's first quarter!!

Logan first report card!

He also celebrated his birthday last Thursday with some cupcakes at his school!

Obviously, these poor children never get anything sweet!

They also had an awards ceremony for everyone.  Logan received 5 ribbons: Perfect Attendance, No Tardies, Personal Success for P.E. Proud Pony for participation and the Reading Award for reading every night!

You can kinda see him standing up when they announced one of the awards!
Good job buddy!  Keep up the fabulous work!

Laundry room redo!

I finally had the chance to clean out and clean up the laundry room.  Unfortunately, I do not have before pics, but trust me, it was a mess.  I know Lyndon thinks I am crazy for even wanting to mess with it.  It is just a laundry room.  But, I spend a lot of time in there, so besides it being functional, I wanted to look at something other than cleaning products!  I have looked at a lot of different options and hit up Pinterest for some ideas (I am spending way too much time there).  I managed to do what I needed for about $30!  It is amazing what a little fabric and paint touch ups can do!
I took down the ugly wire shelves over the washer and dryer.  I originally had plastic bins up on it with all of my cleaning products, but it was really inconvenient to get to and not very attractive.  I already had the tiered shelves, so I put all of the cleaning products in it and made the curtain with some upholstery fabric! Just a disclaimer, I realize my washer and dryer are different colors, but seriously, we got a good deal on them at the outlet store, so who cares!

I took the same upholstery fabric and made a little skirt for the utility sink.  I attached it with stick on Velcro!

I had this frame that was not being used and printed off this pic of Luke!

Sorry this little saying did not come out clearer, but it is super cute, so I had to share.  My grandmother gave this to me when we moved into this house.  I think it is quite appropriate in the laundry room!
This was another great find on Pinterest.  I believe the original tutorial suggested a embroidery hoop. However, in the effort to save money, I came up with another way to make the hoop.  I just took two wire hangers and shaped them into circles.  Mine does not look as cute or as well made as the original one I saw, but I was happy with it all the same.  It has a two-fold purpose.  I can put laundry in it and it covers the faucets and hose for the washer!  The fabric is some vintage fabric from my stash.  Look familiar, Mom?

Happy Birthday Logan!

Family Night!

Last night was Family Night at Luke's preschool!  He was very excited to be able to sing "This Little Light of Mine" with his class.  He did a fabulous job and sung his little heart out.  I was super proud, so proud that I wanted him to really stand out from his class which is why I defied the rules and dressed him differently from his class...ok, so it was not quite intentional.  I was the loser mom who forgot to dress my child like the rest of the class. I was told what to do, I just simply forgot.  My heart sunk when his class walked into the sanctuary all dressed alike except my kid.  I really wanted to crawl under a rock, but I had no choice but to just suck it up and deal with it.  He did not have a clue that he was dressed differently and really just wanted to belt it out.  So, I ducked my head and went up to the front to grab some pics of my sweet songbird work that song.  It does not help that he is a head taller than most of the other kids, and that he took a step forward on the stage.  But, one of the things that I love about Luke is that he is really ok with being a bit different.  He has always marched to the beat of a different drum, so it did not even phase him.  He just wanted to sing!  Here are some pics.  Just in case you can't spot him, he is the ONLY one in blue!

Love me some Luke!! I am proud of you, Bubba!

Halloween!

We have had a busy October!  The boys have had a ton of stuff going on!  Here are the highlights!!

Logan had Scarecrow Day at school!  This is a class pic!
Hanging out at the bus stop with our cute neighbor!

Luke also had a fall party at his school. Logan had the day off, so he got to come and hang out with us!!

Of course, we had to carve pumpkins!

So, Luke requested Scooby, and Logan requested a Storm Trooper...really?  This was the best I could do.  And, is anyone surprised that I sliced open my finger in the process??

Logan's teacher invited the kids in her class over for some trick or treating!
The boys and our very cute vampire friends!

Another super cute neighbor, the princess and her knight!

Logan also finished up his soccer season.  Ok, so this season was a lot tougher than the last one, but they had fun all the same.  Logan got a trophy, so all is right with the world!

And, with the end of October comes another birthday for me!  Thanks to all of my boys for taking such good care of me. Even though I don't get excited about birthdays anymore, I am forever grateful for another year that I get to spend with you!  I love you endlessly!
