Tonsils (warning for the squeamish)!

Logan was a rock start this morning as he went in to have his tonsils removed!  I was a bit concerned only because he does NOT handle needles well.  But, they gave him some meds and some happy gas, and waited until he was out for the needles.  We went in at 6:00am, and we were out by 9:00am! It could not have gone better.  Now, the struggle will be keeping him calm and still for the next 14 days.
Last night, we deviated from the menu and let Logan decide what he wanted for dinner knowing solids were out of the question for about a week.  We told him he could pick a restaurant or have something cooked.  This is what he chose.  Peanut butter sandwiches with jelly, chicken nuggets and apples with peanut butter.  I am really not sure he is mine...

Pre-surgery

The anesthesiologist gave him some kind of yummy elixir.  He was feeling groovy.  I asked if I could have what he was having.  They told me I was not the first parent to ask for the good stuff, but then they told me no.

Perhaps a little drunk at this point!

Post-surgery...no longer feeling so fabulous, but he did excellent!

The cause of all his problems!  The doctor said they were the size of a grown man's.  One was already showing signs of another infection.  We obviously picked a good time to have them removed!

  1. Eewww, did they let you guys keep them? Poor Logan, at least he will not have to worry about those pesky things again!

  2. Tonsils have expiration dates? hehe. I hope he is recovering just fine! You know after he's SUPPOSED to be recovered, he's still going to expect you to meet his every want and need...just like a grown man...haha.
